What a fun day we had! It started off with our weekly Kindermusik class, which we love. Hayes was especially into it today and really feeling the groove. There was one song that we sang while all in a circle and apparently Hayes really liked the song, because he decided to get in the middle of the circle and break it down. I mean straight up, booty shaking, gettin' low, hands in the air breaking it down. Awesome!
After music class, we went to Lee's Kids to buy Hayes a new pair of shoes. Have I mentioned that Hayes LOVES shoes? The boy is obsessed. When we go to Target (or any other store of that sort) he has two favorite aisles...the toy aisle and the shoe aisle. David is a tad concerned about this and it is a little strange, but I just like to think that he is just going to be stylish :)
So, we entered the shoe store and our selection was drastically narrowed due to Hayes' monsterous-sized feet, but we found some really precious ones. Hayes loved them, so we made the purchase. The little fellow was so pumped up about his new shoes that when the lady handed him the bag, he grabbed her and gave her a big 'ole hug!! Total cuteness! Then, we were off to Eastchase to do some shopping for Fall clothes.
When David got home from work we decided to drive to Clanton to check out the Grand Ole Pumpkin Patch. So much fun!
When we headed to the barn to check out the little store inside, we got the best treat ever!! Out came these two little pigs and it was love at first sight. The little pigs were only 2 weeks old and we became insanely obsessed with these precious things! Turned out that the little pigs belonged to a lady who worked there and we now love her too, because she asked Hayes if he wanted to bottle feed the pigs. Music to our ears!! The one that Hayes fed was named Miss Piggy (apparently the lady was about as creative as myself.) Hayes was one happy, amazing bottle feeder and he thought that this adventure beat the heck out of that stupid doll we bought him last week to feed! :) Here are some pics of Hayes and his little buddy, Miss Piggy.
Apparently, Miss Piggy thought Hayes was an awesome bottle feeder too, because after she got her tummy full she followed him around everywhere!!
Next stop...pony ride, and goodness gracious, ponies and horses are another of Hayes' obsessions.
Then, we went to check out the petting zoo. Funny story...When I was growing up my Paw Paw raised fainting goats. The goats actually fall out cold on their back when they are frightened. Seriously. Half my childhood was spent hiding behind Paw Paw's barn and jumping out to scare these goats to watch them faint. Well, when David and I were dating, I had told him about these goats and he didn't believe me. So, of course, I googled it and proved to him that they truly were a breed of goats that fainted. Well, we have had no further discussions about the fainting goats until today. At the petting zoo, we were checking out the goats and I asked the lady if any of them were fainting goats, and guess what?? Gosh darnit, two of them were!! I was beyond excited. So, I finally talked a man into running up behind one of the fainting goats and yes m'am it fell out on its back cold!! Lots of childhood memories were re-lived today in that little goat pen in Clanton.
And the other animals.....
More pics...
I have been so ready for Fall and the weather the last couple of days has just been to die for. Visiting the pumpkin patch got me even more pumped up! We had such a blast today, but after all the pig-feeding, pony-riding, pumpkin-pickin', tractor-ridin', goat-petting FUN, sweet baby Hayes was pooped!
